If you want to see the man on the dial in action, you simply need to press the upper button on the right of the case. This will enable the man to lift his arms to reveal the dice for 2.3 seconds, while the lower button deactivates the minute repeater mechanism, leaving only the automaton function, which can be operated independently of the repeater.


Unlike a jacquemart, which is activated along with the repeater, this Daniel Roth grande complication can be activated either independently of the minute repeater, or together with the striking of the minute repeater.
