We have seen some truly incredible custom made home theaters in the past and the “Guiltless Green Home Theater” is no exception. One thing that makes this home theater system stand apart from the crowd is the fact that it runs on solar energy. Developed by Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA), in collaboration with their vendors, the Guiltless Green Home Theater is the industry’s first solar-powered home theater. The video above shows that the home theater was installed and attached to solar panels that completely power the home theater. It’s the HTSA’s first green project and can provide up to 19 hours of off-the-grid usage. HTSA executive director Richard Glikes says that they have taken the guilt out of high-end home entertainment with the debut of the Guiltless Green Home Theater. The A/V gear for the Guiltless Green Home Theater is equally impressive. The components include a Sharp projector, a 100-inch Stewart Filmscreen, six SpeakerCraft in-wall speakers, an Integra AV receiver, Monster Cable wiring, Lutron lighting, Universal Remote Control control and Salamander furniture.
HiFi House and LG Energy solutions teamed up for the design and installation of the theater. The Guiltless Green Home Theater will be made available very soon for the consumer market. It won’t be a cheap way to enjoy your favorite flicks, but isn’t it another great way to show your eco values.
