A few days back, we told you about a funky home theater from designer James Biber and now for those who don’t want to keep-it-simple Casa Cinemas known for their luxury home theaters have come-up with yet another breathtaking home theater design featuring rotating floor! This cool home theater rotates a full 180 degrees at the press of a button. The front row of seats rotates 180 degrees to face the second row so is just perfect for get-togethers, parties and even for gaming matches. The 16-foot circle of flooring is fitted with four motors and some wheels beneath the steel frame of the floor. Designer Donny Hackett of Casa Cinema says, “The room was quite large—28 by 20 feet—but the rest of the home was not. This was one of those times when you wouldn’t want to give up a huge chunk of comfortable living space for a room you could only watch movies in.” Besides rotating floor, it also has a remote controlled fanned entryway. The 7.5-foot-wide semircircular door in the back of the room fans up from the floor in 12 sections. The doors also open via doorbells on either side of the entryway. The home theater features 7.1-channel audio system powered by a Marantz SR8500 receiver pumping 125 watts to Atlantic Technology 4200 series speakers and a 12-foot-wide custom-built screen that’s perforated with tiny holes to let the sound through. All the lighting, including LEDs (light-emitting diodes) surrounding the rotating floor, on the ceiling and beneath the stairs, is controlled by a Lutron system, which is also operated by the RTI remote. The home theater room even has small bar in the back. And, not just the insides but the home entrance to the theater is equally magical with a 35-foot walkway with Hollywood movie posters lining the wall and starfield carpet to add to the grandeur.
