In early September, we told you about the hi-tech home of the future, created jointly by Popular Science and Sunset magazines. So, would not you love to tour the ultimate ‘Home of the future’ before settling for it, finally! The Sunset’s House of Innovation focuses on the most cutting-edge technology that might be a common picture five to 20 years from now. The 6,500 sq. ft., five-bedroom house is a paradise for a gadget freak.

The house features GE Monogram collection of cooking appliances, a luxurious outdoor grilling station, the media wonder, Slingbox, that plugs into your cable box and redirects the signal to just about any device on which you want to watch television, the $250,000 audio-video, lighting, and home automation systems, remote-controlled blinds and a computer-managed wine vault to name a few!

The focal point of the $62,000 home theater is a 112-inch diagonal screen-perforated, just like the screen in a commercial theater. The home theater sound experience is created by the three speakers hidden behind the screen, along with two in-wall subwoofers. The house has also a BioSafe, with a built-in thumbprint reader to stow-away your valuables. The kids’ playroom contains the first-ever 150-inch plasma monitor-the ISF Calibrated Pioneer Elite Pro FHD-150-and a VRX Racer Pro Gaming Seat for racing games.

And, along with the hi-tech features, the house will equally appeal to the green consumers with its eco-friendly features including rooftop solar panels, a home generator that produces electricity from natural gas at a 95 percent efficiency rate and a FuelMaker Phill Home Refueling Station for refueling a natural gas-burning car. The home of the future is listed at a price of $5.5 million...not much for a hi-tech abode like this...right folks!!
