We had mentioned a few months back about the diamond encrusted-platinum skull unveiled by Damien Hirst, and this time the news is that his creation has finally found a buyer. Yes, it has gone off to an investment group for $100 million!
The skull, cast from a 35 year-old 18th century European man, retains the original teeth. It is embedded with 8,601 diamonds, including a huge pink diamond, worth more than eight million dollars, which is planted in the centre of its forehead.
The skull created a sensation when it was first displayed, as some critics called it tasteless. Well, someone’s bad taste has made Hirst richer by $100 million. What say!
