This year, at Milan Furniture Fair, Veuve Clicquot revealed its own exclusive eco-friendly gift box - DesignBox - by Tom Dixon, Front Design and 5.5 Designers. These collaborations were being presented as part of an installation called “Out of The Box” at Superstudio+. The collection includes: Couch by Front design, Tom Dixon Comet lamp and a cellar by 5.5 Designers. The DesignBox will be launched commercially in June 2009. So, in case you missed out on them at the fair, we are giving away the Comet lamp by Tom Dixon from the collection to one lucky reader. All you need to do is to answer a simple question (see below) in our comments section or in email and we will randomly pick one right answer for a winner at the end of this week:-
“If you had the opportunity, where would you put your Tom Dixon for Veuve Clicquot lamp?”
And, for those of you who are polo fans, there’s something even more interesting from Veuve Clicquot - the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic on May 30th in Manhattan, which is special for more than one reason.

For starters: This would be in continuation with last year’s polo match which was actually the first ever match played in the city in 70 years. Besides, Prince Harry is playing on one of the teams captained by Nicolas Roldan against Black Watch, captained by polo star Nacho Figueras (the new face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo fragrance). The match will take place on Governor’s Island and, the proceeds of the match will benefit American Friends of Sentebale - a charity that was co-founded by Prince Harry. The Polo Classic will be the first of a series of events on Governors Island which will celebrate the 400th anniversary of New York. St. Regis has teamed up for the event to offer VIP package that includes a stay at the ultra-luxe hotel, seating at the match for two guests as well as a brunch the next day with Nacho Figueras. The VIP area will additionally feature a VIP picnic area (with blanket and champagne picnic lunch). Tickets start at $500 (picnic for 2 people).

It’s an amazing concept indeed. The lamp would certainly add more zing to my boutique’s main lounge.
If given the lamp I would have to bring it as a gift to a very good friend’s Christening of his new Yacht. The last one served as the venue for the consumption of countless bottles of the Widow’s label.
The lamp would look great in my apt
The lamp looks like a shining multi-faceted star in the sky. So I would like to place it in my garden’s lawn hanging from above with an invisible support at a height of about 5 meter to make it naturally looking star.
Ram Bansal
Ram Bansalji,
You mean it to be in the hanging garden of Babylon?
Wow. An Eldorado of paramount elegance.
OH! A Tom Dixon? Well, that has to be in my house entrance, will have to remove everything an leave this piece of art all by itself, it deserves it!
The perfect spot for this lamp would be mi house foyer, it could break harmony with the glass, wood, water and plants environment

It would look perfect hanging in my bathroom!! but seriously... it really would haha :D
in my grandma’s study.
In my living room
I’d love to have this hanging in my sitting room/library.
In the small room in my ancestral home in my village. Then that small room in my village shall become meeting point of ancient with modern!!
I would like to put it on the Moon for all to see. It would be great to take a trip to the Moon as well now wouldn’t it.
If that would not work out then I guess I would love to hang it in my bedroom or my studio. ”I LOVE LAMP !”
...Seriously it would look awesome in my ”Guitar Room”. Chill and play music or my guitar...man that would look awesome, and most likely make the room complete.
It will be next to Zodiac.
This is my odd urge!
I’d put this lamp right next to my bed.
Always we are following a light,
Always the light recedes; with groping hands
We stretch toward this glory, while the lands
We journey through are hidden from our sight
Dim and mysterious, folded deep in night,
We care not, all our utmost need demands
Is but the light, the light! So still it stands
Surely our own if we exert our might.
Fool! Never can’st thou grasp this fleeting gleam,
Its glowing flame would die if it were caught,
Its value is that it doth always seem
But just a little farther on. Distraught,
But lighted ever onward, we are brought
Upon our way unknowing, in a dream.
This Lamp will always stay next to my queen!
Right in the middle of the 1st floor of my apartment. There is a dead space there, in between the dining room, living room and kitchen. Light is supposed to be energizing, so it’s perfect from a fengshui perspective. In addition, it’s in the middle of my place, so you can view it at all angles wherever you stand on the first floor of my apartment.
I would have made a big lamp, and lived in it, and put little lamps on the trees in the garden
If giving the chance for me to own it, I would put it over my kitchen table for the whole world to see. My kitchen table is right next to 3 windows and lots of people walk by and look in. Would be a great show off for them night lookers.
I really don’t know where I would like to hang this lamp but given a chance I would like to use it to light up the lives of underprivileged kids living near my place.
I would put it on ebay for sale
I will place it in my living room so that every one can see it..
This light would make a great conversation piece when hung in either the entrance way of my house or the bar. It would symbolize the meaning of the site ”Born Rich”.
I would place it in my living room.
The lamp looks like a galaxy of uncountable sparkling stars. I would love to have a romantic dinner with this lamp set in the middle.
What an wonderful idea.
i love lamp
