Denon introduces its latest High Definition THX Ultra2 behemoth home cinema system, the AVP/POA-A1HD, also known as the Imperial Death Star. The AVP/POA-A1HD packs a barely credible 3,000 watts of high-end home cinema and an audio and video technology more sophisticated than anything else on the globe. It’s twice as larger and heavier as any of its predecessors. The A1HD is available in two substantial components, first of them being a pre-amp that costs £5000 which takes care of all the inputs. The inputs include six HDMI, six components, eight S-video and eight composite. There are five optical and six coaxial digital inputs for audio alone. And the output comprises 12 balanced XLR, 12 unbalanced RCA for analogue audio out and added four optical digital outs. Furthermore, you get Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking too. The pre-amp and the power-amp consume 150W and 1,300W of electricity respectively.
The second £5000 part is the power-amp which takes the processed audio signal from the pre-amp and turns it into rare, ear-pleasing sound. Ten XLR, ten RCA audio inputs and a total of 20 speaker outputs split into two sets of ten channels allowing use in two separate rooms. It can access your home network and play music and photos, and can provide output to two screens simultaneously. Other salient features include Dolby True HD, DTS-HD, Deep Colour, avYCC and auto lip sync. Yours for £10,000$20,000.
