When we are talking about the gaming laptops, we can’t forget the XPS machines from Dell. We knew it was coming and now, the powerful beast, the XPS M1730 has appeared on the Dell site. At 17-inches, the laptop is configurable with a 2.8GHz Core 2 Extreme, 2GB of DDR2, up to 400GB of HDD space, a Blu-Ray drive, and a 512MB nVidia GeForce 8700M GT graphics card, and 9-cell primary and 9-cell secondary batteries. The inclusion of 802.11 in a, g, and n (no b), optional HSDPA and EV-DO rev take care of the connectivity part.
Sadly, the beast comes pre-loaded with Windows Vista Ultimate. Anyway, you have the option to fit in an AT&T HSDPA 3.6 or Sprint / Verizon EVDO rev. A card for an additional $163 and $129 respectively. The pricing starts from $2,999 for the base configuration and go up to $4,192 for the premium crimson red model. Anyway, there is no official announcement from Dell so, we can also see some price changes.
