The Cool Geek series has come a long way showcasing geeks who’ve made extraordinary things out of the ordinary. However, I’m sure, this time, our guest will not settle down with the Cool Geek tag, rather would demand more bling into it. Katherine Hughes, International Director, GoldStriker, is our Cool Geek of this week, and seriously, she already seems to have struck with some great ideas to deck the crown with gold, diamonds, Swarovski crystals and all those gems before she dons it. Katherine Hughes in her own words:-

My name is Katherine Hughes. I’m 30yrs old and I run Goldstriker along with my crazy husband Stuart. We are based in Liverpool England. We started out about 10yrs ago goldplating cars. From these huge projects we basically fell into tricking up the gadget indusrty. Making certain items more bespoke really. Whats the most fullfilling things about what we have done is creating different exclusive, some might say worlds 1st items. Also we do all our customisations & photographs in house but also we do are own marketing and since the website has only been live for nearly 1 yr we have shot ourselves right up there, this simply is because of all the help from the media including yourselves ‘Bornrich’.

Up and coming projects certainly to mod the iphone 3G but also we have a few other things coming up but on these ones I am afraid we have had to sign one or 2 confidentiality agreements. Anyway reason for our success mainly is ‘ Once in a while always lay yourself down a challenge.’
