The car, which was just a concept a year ago, is now up for pre-orders. I am talking about the electric three-wheeled Aptera and the company is now taking $500 reservations for the next year launch. It means you will have to shell out $500 in advance to book your all-electric or plug-in diesel hybrid model. Design-wise, it looks like some kinda flying car or a spaceship. The 850-pound aerodynamic 230mpg electric car (over 300 mpg for hybrid version) can reach speeds of 55 mph. They claim the Aptera to get from zero to 60 in 10 seconds.

When launched, the all-Electric Aptera and the Plug-in Series Hybrid model will set you back around $26,900 and $29,900 respectively. The shipping will start in approximately 12 months from now. The price tag seems to be so level-headed when we take a look at the design of the car. Isn’t that cool?
