It’s a bird, it’s a car and now, it is a boat. A boat? Yeah, move over the flying car, the flying boat is here. Now, flying has taken an all new meaning with Seamax’s SLSA flying boat. Yes, you can actually fly with the SLSA, an acronym for special light sports aircraft, and when you are bored of flying, how about landing on the ocean and doing some relaxed sailing. That is exactly what this very new concept from Seamax aims to do. and if you think this is still a concept, you’d better think again, the SLSA has already been delivered to it’s first customer in the United States. this amphibious seaplane is certified as a special light sports aircraft replete with fully electric retractable landing gear. Although, the flying car was the first concept of this kind to be showcased, Seamax’s flying boat has beaten everybody to the finish line with it’s SLSA, albeit with one difference, you still cannot drive it like a car.

The SLSA has an unusual rotor behind it, powering its flight as opposed to conventional propeller based aircraft and this craft reaches a very respectable flying speed of 115mph. Many images depicting the seamax flying and landing in treacherous conditions show it to be a robust flying machine. And on water, it cut’s the ice just as well. This very unconventional Boytoy was featured at this year’s Geneva motor show.

If you want to play James Bond, and fly and sail in the same craft, be prepared to part with a Hundred and twenty seven thousand greenbacks. This, now has me thinking, how about a Flying boat-car next time around Seamax?
