The well known Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts have announced to open a new luxury retreat, Banyan Tree Lijiang in southern China in spring 2006. The new luxury resort will be set within the mountainous Yunnan Province and will feature 40 deluxe villas occupying 3800 sq.ft. each with private heated outdoor jet pools. The resort will also feature 13 pool villas, one two-bedroom pool villa and one presidential villa, a tennis court, a library and games room, corporate retreats and a Bai Yun Chinese Restaurant, which partially floats over a courtyard pond. The Spa at the resort will feature six heated treatment rooms, a traditional Chinese medicine-hall, a yoga room and a gym.
