Bang & Olufsen, the firm that is renowned for its high end home theaters and custom multi-room music systems, is taking the logical next step of introducing white covers for all of its fabric covered loudspeakers. B&O has already offered an array of white products that offer a perfect blend of chic design with the minimalism associated with white color. Since, the white color is very sensitive to dust and dirt, it is really a tedious task to find the least sensitive type of fabric possible. For the same sound engineers at B&O tested the acoustic properties of a number of fabric samples and put them through severe environment tests. They tested if the white fabric looked as good as it should after being exposed to 6-8 years of direct sunlight, dust and dirt. Bang & Olufsen has teamed up with Italian manufacturer Silanco to get the right solution for the loudspeaker cabinets. This winter, Bang & Olufsen will be offering all of its fabric covered loudspeakers with the white covers for its discerning customers.
