In February, I told you about Hammacher’s amazing Solar-Powered boat and now is the turn for yet another boat with unique concept, Aeroboat. Aeroboat allows a pilot and a passenger to scout a tropical island from overhead, then land on the water and boat in to a secluded lagoon to enjoy an afternoon on a quiet beach. Sounds like a dream...isn’t it! This flying machine is partly a fanboat and partly a glider. It features a powerful 65 horsepower engine for cruising across water and through the air with equal facility. It also has 34-foot wingspan that provides a generous surface for lift and smooth turns in flight. The Aeroboat requires a mere 200 feet of water surface for take-offs and landings and the aircraft have a flight ceiling of 8,000 feet.
The engine can be turned off, enabling the vehicle to act as a stable glider that quietly eases down for soft landings on the water. The unit sets-up quickly to fly in just 20 minutes. The inflatable boat portion has an aircraft aluminum hull for strength and stability without excessive weight and the wing frame is also aircraft aluminum with an eight-ounce, stabilized Dacron membrane. The engine is a two-cylinder, two-stroke liquid cooled model and the seats are molded plastic and all c onnections and cables are made with marine-quality parts. The flying-boat has an aerial range of 90 miles on ten gallons of fuel at a cruising speed of 45 miles per hour and can carry up to 600 pounds passenger weight. Aeroboat sells for $21,000 and the product price includes a trailer and set-up. So, ready to row the boat in the air!!!!
