To be a radio aficionado means being in a different league of enthusiasts’ altogether and if anyone of you feels there ain’t a group of fanatics like that, you shouldn’t be reading it, for it’s for them who talk about the Catalins and admire the likes of Mark Woolley.
Thus, strictly catering those who understand this or are willing to refer this case to an older generation, Bonhams would showcase a phenomenal collection of Mark Woolley’s vintage radios on December 19 at Bonhams New York gallery.
This collection dates back to the 1930’s and the 40’s and if you feel like pouching a vintage collectible from the sands of time, the venue for the grab would be the sixth floor of the monumental Fuller Building, 595 Madison Avenue at 57th Street.
The mammoth collection includes over 200 radios including the likes of the Catalins, Bakelites, and the patriotism evoking 115 Streamliner, and the Fada L56, more famously known as the ‘The All American’ models which could well fetch an expected $5000 to $10,000 at the auction.
Another famous entity at the auction would be 13 pieces from 1933, the Art Deco Air King 52 which could go for anything from $1,500 to $10,000. Anyone of you still doubting the existence of those fanatics! Be there at the Bonhams to see them sell like hotcakes.
