Martin & Co. guitars have never auctioned a single guitar before, for the simple reason that they didn’t really have an auctioning purpose on hand. It could only have been charity which pushed Martin Guitars to that limit, and it was therefore for the first time ever that a Martin guitar was auctioned. The auction organized by Christie’s, saw the 2000 D50 Deluxe Guitar fetch them $37,500. Made from rosewood, this Brazilian edition raised money for a local charity to be benefited by the Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation. This guitar grabbed instant attention when it first came into the limelight, and it is fitting to say that it still hasn’t lost even a wee bit of it to date.

I really like Martin guitars. I wonder when will they do auction again?
