Interestingly, a typing error of one person on eBay turned out to be a profit of $500,000 for another savvy eBay trader.
It all happened when an eBay user made a critical typing error. He had posted for an official bottle of Allsopp’s Arctic Ale, brewed for an Arctic expedition led by Sir Edward Belcher in 1852. The ale had the special qualities of a freezing point well below zero degrees. Accidentally, he omitted the ‘p’ in ‘Allsop’s Allsopp’s while listing the item.
The potential buyers could not find the unique thing but one intelligent eBay user recognized the thing and won the auction for a mere US $304. Within no time, he re-posted the item with correct spelling. The auction received 157 bids, and the item was sold for a whopping US $503,300.
If you are going to list any such item like the museum quality bottle of beer from 1852, you should better check your spelling ten times.

HAHA- Maybe the author of this story should check their spelling!!! He also spelled Allsopp’s wrong, the second time it occurs in the article. If it was spelled with only one ’p’ the eBay search would have found it.
Thank God! I didn’t make the mistake on eBay..Lolz. Anyway, I apologize and thanks a lot for pointing that out.
