Move over silver spoon, being born an heir just got blingier. Word is that the super swanky converted Silver Cross Silver Shadow baby pram that was finished all over with over £4,000 worth of 24-carat gold, including wheels and spokes has been snapped up by an unknown South African businessman for £6,000 after it went on display at Harrods less than six weeks ago. The exact manufacturing date of the carriage is not known, but since the Silver Cross brand dates way back to 1877, we’re sure this particular pram restored by Graham Richardson and Alison Murfet can certainly be categorized as an antique. Described as the ultimate in baby bling, the carriage features a leather hood trimmed with ultra luxuriant ermine fur and blue satin lining on the inside along with a clockwork music box that plays nursery rhymes.

Though a Harrods spokesman later revealed that it wasn’t as yet clear whether the pram was bought for a baby or as a collector’s item, we’re sure we’ll see the next Beckham baby strolling around the country in one of these.
